National Young Readers Week (November 11-15) is an annual event co-founded by Pizza Hut and the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress.
The tradition includes asking celebrities to come into our classroom to read, And, while I think that’s a nice tradition, I think I’ll try something different.
This year I’ll invite my awesome classroom adults to come in and read with their kids. They’ll have a chance to come in the last fifteen minutes of our day during the week and read books their kids have chosen from our library.
Parents often ask me for advice on a range of academic topics. If I had to choose one piece of advice to share, I would say, “Read to them!”
My Kinder kids, their adults, and books. And, a lot of giggles and snuggles.
It’ll be a great National Young Readers Week for sure.
